With CIF finals wrapping up, we are so excited to see such an improvement from our Rat Pack wrestlers.  Placing in their CIF Tournament are Epstien 119 lbs, Alvarado  103 lbs, Frier 103 lbs, Jamie 125lbs, Carlburg 125 and Couch 152 lbs. By placing top 5 in their CIF’s these Rat Pack wrestlers have all qualified for the Masters Meet Tournament!  AWESOME wrestling guys!

Congratulations to Rat Pack Wrestler Damon “Lovey” Couch,  for being selected as OC Varsity Wrestler of the Week.

Couch (152) defeated Daniel Threlkeld of Vista, 9-2 in the finals at the Raul Huerta Memorial Tournament at Canyon Springs High Saturday. Couch, ranked second in the county, recorded victories by technical fall, fall and decision on the way to the finals.

Congratulations to our very own Rat Pack Team members Max Epstein and Brandon Evans. They both took second at the Troy Warrior Classic.
Peter Ishiguro earned Bronze, while the wonder twins Brandon Chase and Trever Stevens continued to follow each other match for match finishing in 4th place

Once again, Peter Ishiguro and Brandon Evans reached the finals. Max Epstein, the defending Rosemead tournament champion at his weight class, also reached the finals. All three wrestlers finished just off their best and took home silver medals. Also placing in the tournament were Rat Pack wrestlers Brandon Chase (5th), Trevor Stevens (5th), Christian Seedorf (4th), and Everett Harper (7th).

At 125 lbs. Peter Ishiguro rolled through the competition en route to a gold medal. At 171 lbs. Brandon Evans tore up his first 3 opponnents (18-3, 18-2, and 4:36 pin), before falling to a top ranked returning CIF placer from Simi Valley in the championship

First and foremost CONGRATULATIONS to ALL of Rat Pack for an AMAZING off season. Each member of Rat Pack has worked hard throughout the off season and now has an excuse to WIN! Last weekend Rat Pack attended the “Orange County Summer League” wrestling tournament. Before we get into the details we want to thank all the families and friends who came out to support us! For those of you who couldn’t make it, consider yourselves LUCKY…it was hot beyond belief. We took up 16 wrestlers in varying weight classes and levels. Among our top performers were Kef Weltner, Cameron Calburg and Damon Couch. We are really starting to see all of our wrestlers progress into the champions we know they will become. GREAT job to all of our wrestlers! We look forward to a promising season!

This year was the first of our annual Rat Pack Wrestling camp! This trip was our way of rewarding some of our hardest working wrestlers. Camp was held at a luxurious cabin up in Lake Arrowhead from Friday to Sunday. While training was a must, we were also able to fit in lots of FUN! Everything from swimming, wake boarding, fishing, to yes, even Guitar Hero….this weekend was truly one not to be forgotten. Each wrestler also received an exclusive, limited edition Rat Pack shirt available only to those who attended the trip. A big THANK YOU to all who participated and helped make this trip a successful one!
